The committee of Taylor’s Law Society (comprising of Tan Jing Huei, LeAnn Yap, Lau Jia-Kai, Amanda Rachel and Wong Qian Ru) recently organised the “TLS Internship & Shadowing Programme”. This initiative will be carried out over a month, from 22nd February to 19th March 2021. Taylor’s Law Society partnered with 13 law firms throughout Malaysia, namely in Sabah, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, all with varying areas of specialisation.
This programme aimed to assist students with their career development, as well as to allow students to explore their interests and develop professional skills and competencies. Out of the 71 law students who applied for this internship programme, 25 were given the internship position. To further help the successful applicants, Taylor's Law Society worked with a distinguished alumnus, Gan Yu Ju to release an IGTV Video preparing students for their Internship.
The Lawyers-Shadowing Programme was developed to allow students to get a brief idea of a lawyer’s typical day at work and get first-hand experience of work culture in a law firm. Unfortunately, due to extenuating circumstances such as the announcement of the Second Movement Control Order and the Declaration of Emergency, this programme is currently on hold until further notice.
